Insightful Post here Ryan. As a freelance copywriter I feel what gives me the edge over other writers is my capacity for empathy – to envisage what the audience really needs, enabling me to create content that really speaks to its target audience and feels personal. Having said that – because I’m passionate and often niche in my writing, for this reason I struggle to get onto the radar of companies who require a steady stream of work rather than a one-off piece. How would you suggest I combat this?
#3: Take care of your audience. Treat your readers as unique as they are not by how much they spend on your products. If you can achieve this, you sales will grow quickly and you won’t have to be worried about monetization. I have seen several times, people forgot users because they don’t purchase anything. Probably those users are engaged and will purchase in the future but they are not prepared yet. Think about they belong to the % of users you need to convert, without them, you won’t get customers. If you think it that way you will see your users (no customers) as allies to achieve your income goals 😉

5.0 out of 5 starsPractical advice, author obviously walks his talk Jon Morrow is the gold standard in this arena, and this post encapsulates that. He consulted with me at the launch of my blog, and these 20 principles feel like evolutions of that great advice. My numbers are nowhere near his (frankly, my subscriber list seems fixed lately), but my experience validates the core of what’s here: it’s all about consulting, leading to products (in my case, a bit of the other way around, via a book that arose from my website/blog). If you can afford Jon (I can’t), go for it… provided you truly are an “expert” in a given field, one that other people will pay to listen to. If you can’t, or aren’t (at least yet), just read everything he’s written, here and elsewhere.
For example, below are two titles written to grab user attention. Decide for yourself which one you would choose to click.
