This was such a helpful post. It confirms what I’ve been thinking: I need to carry on and be patient. I’ve only been blogging for about six months , now, and I feel this first year for me is about defining content as I have a lot of interests.

First, you can’t expect to much money from your blog for at least the first 6 months. During the first 6 months, you will need to spend most of your time writing posts, commenting on other blogs, and connecting with other bloggers (through guest posting and other networking). In order to make money you need traffic and building traffic takes time.

Plain writing is best Blog Writers While not extremely deep, there are some writing opportunities for freelancers from high-profile clients. I was originally skeptical about starting a Patreon. After all, I’m not exactly an “artist.” I’m not writing stories—I’m writing about stories. Would anyone want to contribute to a Patreon for that? If you have developed a strong enough brand and following, though, Patreon can be a great source of reliable income. I didn’t start a Patreon until I had more than 10,000 tumblr followers, and it still took years before I was making more than $100 a month. Having that reliable income is fantastic, though, and it is slowly growing. I incorporated a monthly giveaway on my Patreon, which I think helped with incentive. I wouldn’t recommend starting a Patreon lightly, though: the launch is very, very important. Definitely do your research, seek out similar Patreons, and build a launch plan first. Rewards make your Patreon way more appealing, but again, make sure it’s sustainable! Don’t set a goal or offer a reward that you’re not sure you would be able to do consistently—even if it seems unlikely that you’ll ever get a Patron at that level or that you’ll ever meet that goal.
You just have to click the link and go through the sign-up process. Amazon is the easiest and has been around the longest. You should at least sign up for Amazon to get started.
That’s right – you have something to say! Everyone does. I re-pin my posts to my board, but also to Group boards. Group boards don’t belong to me. The owner is normally another blogger and they “invite” you to pin on their board. I also pin other people’s pins but I normally pin 70-80% of my pins from my posts and 20-30% of other’s people pins.

If you start out becoming friends with other bloggers first, sometime in the future they will help you with your eBook launch, promoting your blog, your course, giving you an introduction to someone – whatever – because you’re friends.
The Patient Experience Project – Chicago, IL Hi Natalie! You can approach companies on your own to ask about doing paid reviews. There are also websites like PayPerPost and SponsoredReviews that can help to connect you with businesses who may be interested.
There are various ways through which websites come up with article writing, and one of them is outsourcing of the content writing. However, it is riskier than other options, as not all writers can write content specific to the web.

The number one reason websites don't launch on time is because of holdups with the content. When business owners try to handle the content themselves, things simply don't get done on time. You need to spend your time running your business, not writing content. And it doesn't help to shove the content off on your marketing or sales department. They have their own jobs to do. If you want to get your content written in a timely fashion so your website doesn't sit in a development queue for months, then you need a content writer. A content writer won't get held up on other job duties. Content writers also have the uncanny ability to create high-quality content at superhuman speeds.

#3: Teaching: Yes, you can make money by teaching others what you’ve learnt. It could be as simple as showing people how to install WordPress on your webhost, and how to tweak a theme to make it delectable. Charge a fee for your time, but focus on solving people’s problems.
Grant @MillennialMoney #1: Selling Affiliate products. This is how I got started making money from my first blog back in 2011. I started off blogging about ways to make money, so I simply went to Clickbank, created an account and sought out good quality products in my niche to promote. Nowdays you also have JVZoo and many other Affiliate platforms to choose from. I then included a link to the product within my post and that worked for me. Of course you need to have traffic, I was sharing my posts all over social media, especially Facebook. The products that worked best for me were residual paying products, for instance membership site products, (monthly payments), this meant that each month your income increases as long as people keep paying their fees.
TRAVEL I did not make any money from my first blogs for almost 18 months (I didn’t even know you could so did not try) and when I did start to try to make money from them the first income was just a few dollars a week – but gradually in time my income grew from a part time income to a full time income and then beyond.
